Listing Your Home for Sale? Demand Professional Photography

01_03_Front_3_(small)We are living in a very fast-paced world. So much of our information comes from the Internet where short, visually stimulating content is so important. This applies more and more to all facets of our lives, but is becoming even more important when buying a home. Statistics from the National Association of REALTORSĀ® indicates that 90% of all home buyers use the Internet to search for homes.

If you are in the process of selling your home, it is important to stand out from the crowd. A listing takes about three seconds to make a first impression on the Internet. Make sure that impression is a good one! Professional photography, accomplished by a photographer well versed in the techniques of architectural/real estate photography can make all the difference in the world. 08_Formal_Dining_1_(small)

It is easy to search for homes on the Internet these days, and it is easy to see home after home with dark, crooked, and even out-of-focus photographs. Sometimes you can see the person taking the photo in the mirror in the bathroom! However, when 12_Kitchen_2_(small)the home with professional photography comes along, it grabs you and makes you want to take a closer look. As a seller, you want your home to be the one that invites the viewer to come see it in person and make an offer to purchase. I have had numerous agents tell me that the photographs I provided were an important part of getting their listings sold.

13_43_Rear_Yard_4_(small)It is also important to remember that not all photographers are well versed in the techniques of architectural/real estate photography. A person may be a fantastic wedding or portrait photographer, but if they do not routinely photograph real estate they may not be aware of some of the important principles required to produce outstanding architectural images.
