2005- KHTS, Camelot and The SCV Coalition

santa clarita mover disaster relief services Hurricane KatrinaIn 2005, Hurricane Katrina left thousands of people homeless on the Gulf Coast. Working with two grassroots organizations, we provided an 18-wheel moving van and a 2-man team to deliver 27,000 pounds of needed supplies to southern Mississippi and Alabama.

We visited a tent city and other locations, bringing generators, clothing, food, toiletries, camping gear, kitchenware and appliances.

The delivery included a pallet of water that a California elementary school sent to its adopted sister school in Mississippi. The southern school was due to reopen but not permitted to begin session without bottled water on hand. The water donation made its reopening possible. It was a long distance move with a heart.
