What is a local move?

Local moves are relocations that begin and end within a range of 100 miles. If you are moving over 100 miles away, we can still take you there! Learn more about our one-of-a-kind long-distance moving service that involves no middleman, subcontractors, or van lines!

Whether you are moving around the corner in Santa Clarita, to another part of Los Angeles or California, or across the country, the skill and expertise needed to handle your items safely while caring for your home remain the same.   • Typically completes your local move in one day, depending on the volume and distance of your move as well as if you utilize additional moving services, such as packing, unpacking, and storage;

What does Camelot Moving & Storage include in our local moving services?

Camelot’s local moving crews consist of two or more movers and a well-equipped Camelot moving truck. The size of the crew will depend on the volume of the items being moved. Our crew will:

  • Protect your home’s flooring, stairs, railings, and walls as needed with protective material we provide;

  • Wrap metal, wood, and plastic furnishings in moving blankets; place mattresses and box springs in new sealable mattress bags; and shrink-wrap upholstered furniture;

  • Break down large furniture, such as bed frames, large desks, china cabinets, and sectionals;

  • Provide free use of wardrobe boxes* during transport (designed to transport hanging clothes still on the hanger);

* Please note that wardrobe boxes are free for use while transporting your hanging clothes, but they are not free to use for storage following your move. The boxes are considered part of the company truck’s equipment and need to return with the Camelot crew to our office.

  • Load your belongings into our moving van, unload and deliver the items to their designated room in the new home, and arrange and rearrange your furnishings as needed; and

  • Unwrap furniture and remove moving blankets, wardrobe boxes, and—as a courtesy—any empty boxes you have unpacked by the time our crew leaves.

What moving services are not included in a local move but are available as an add-on service?

Packing, unpacking, and storage are moving services Camelot provides that you may opt to add to your local move, but they are not included.

What is packing? It is preparing small or fragile items for transport by gathering them into boxes with padding as needed, including artwork, lamps, TVs, hanging mirrors, glass tabletops, kitchenware, china, countertop items, and the contents of cabinets, closets, and bookshelves.

Can you provide a written estimate?

Yes, we can. Our moving team will speak with you about your moving plans to gather all the necessary information to provide you an accurate estimate of costs over the phone. If you would like a detailed written estimate of your moving costs, we are happy to provide one.

Do you offer packing supplies?

Absolutely. We offer quality moving company packing supplies, such as boxes, tape, and wrap, so your belongings are safe and secure as you move.

Does Camelot have moving references or reviews?

What is Camelot’s cancellation or rescheduling policy?

We will refund your deposit if you cancel up to seven days before your local move date. If you reschedule, we will choose a new date based on our team’s availability and push your deposit to that date.

 
 

Do you have your own moving crew or hire contractors?

We employ and train our own movers. We never hire third-party contractors. Our experienced team will be with you from start to finish and has experience with local moving challenges.
